Oral Design Symposiums have been held throughout the world every two years.  As a member, although I thought it was honorable to be selected as one of the speakers for the Symposiums, most all of the speakers for the Oral Design Symposiums have been the members of Oral Design, non-members rarely were given a chance to lecture.  This might make the Oral Design Symposiums special, but on the other hand, from a certain time, I noticed the symposiums are filled with one-way lectures, and I could not feel the atmosphere to grow up with the next generation of Creation ceramic users.

The times are constantly changing.  As social media brought us closer together, we can communicate real time, and it is possible to present clinical cases by ourselves.  Materials, equipment and technologies are also moving forward rapidly, and it is difficult to deny that we are eager to make sure not to be left behind.  So I have been thinking of this project for about 4 or 5 years now – How wonderful it would be if we can overcome the politics and exchange the ideas between neighboring countries on dental technology – something we can only do now.  I have been sharing this idea with friend dental technicians in Taiwan and Japan, and I waited until the time has come, and I am finally  be able to realize this project at this time.

Although many of you might be looking forward to hear the lectures by Oral Design members, the key speakers for this symposium are the eight new generation dental technicians from the three countries. We invited speakers for this symposium, and after careful consideration, we have selected two each lecturers from Korea and Taiwan, and four from the host country, Japan.  And the lectures by our Oral Design members are just to add flowers to their lectures. Please let me mention again that this symposium has finally be realized because these eight next generation speakers from those three countries were grew up, and the time is ripe. I am so thrilled making this homepage.

"It is the word of sculptor Michelangelo of the Italian high-grade Renaissance period.”

― Michelangelo, sculptor of the Italian Renaissance period.

This quote may be applied not only in the world of art but in any world, the world of dental technicians is no exception. I know all the next generation speakers selected. Although not as much as Michelangelo, I can imagine that they spend more time working, thinking carefully, and making efforts to get this place. And, please keep in mind that the pioneer of this passion comes from Mr. Willi Geller. According to Mr. Kenji Uchiumi, when he visited Mr. Geller last year, Mr. Geller was making trial and error while working on a patient’s restorations a lot more than when he worked in Mr. Geller's laboratory fifteen years ago. Mr. Uchiumi was so impressed by Mr. Geller. This is exactly the "oral design."

It would be wonderful if this project succeeds, and the similar project would be carried out in other parts of the world such as in Europe and the United States – and furthermore, to hold the world speech competition on this extension. I also believe that it is oraldesign that can do this type of project, and I want to do it. Although this project is for the Creation porcelain users, I think it would be interesting if other porcelain manufacturers plan to do similar projects and next-generation speakers share the same stage – dreaming such future collaboration, I started this project as a first step.
